Description:
Ever wanted to turn GTA 5's default C tier weapon sounds into something more AAA-like dramatic? You've found the right mod! New sounds from Insurgency Sandstorm, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2019, Battlefield franchise and other military-oriented games will certainly fill the gap in GTA 5's dull gunplay. For complete audiophilia, make sure your sound device handles stereo well.
Installation:
1. Open up "Main" folder, extract RGS41.oiv on your desktop or any other place you can comfortably use stuff from.
2. Run OpenIV, choose "Grand Theft Auto V" option (if you've never used OpenIV before, choose path to your game directory).
3. Once OpenIV is up and running, click "Tools" on the top panel and then click "Package Installer".
4. Choose path to RGS41.oiv you extracted from the archive at step 1.
5. Installation window must appear, click "Install" (I would recommend install it into "mods" folder).
6. After installation process is complete, you're good to go, launch the game and enjoy.
Notes:
— Mod was tested on latest game version (at the time) and to this day still works perfectly. If your game began to crash after installing the mod, review the mods you had installed before and check if RGS conflicts with any of them (shouldn't conflict with much though, since it's just a sound replacement).
— You're allowed to reupload this mod to any other modding resources ONLY if all of the mod authors are mentioned (credited) correctly.
— If this mod (in its original form, unedited) is included in your modpack that you're planning to publicly share, ask for my permission.
— Using this mod as a base or using any resources of this mod is prohibited.
— Recommended for better experience: https://gta5-mods.com/scripts/gun-recoil.
— If you will run into any trouble or have any questions to ask, you can contact me on Discord: xenort (old XENORT#4615).

@XENORT But i cant understand how to compress wav
Uhhh...I felt like the sound of the Assault rifle and the carbine quite similar...
just created an account to comment, @XENORT by any chance you still have the stun gun sound?
@XENORT Just downloaded and doesn't seem to be a Installation.txt or a .oiv file ?
@XENORT could u please put the installation guide in the description? rules also require it
i've played way too much insurgency sandstorm not to notice these sounds lol definitely a upgrade to vanilla though
thank u man
Hello. I've downloaded your gta v gun sounds mod and it's awesome. But i didnt like the sound some silenced weapons make, and the explosion sound is too loud. So i would like to know if theres a way for me to edit the mod to remove the silenced sounds and explosion sounds (put back the vanilla sounds)
how do i remove flash after firing? i hate when every single time i shoot i get a flashbang.
I am very grateful to the author for creating this mod version.
But some sounds are too loud, hope you will update them soon.
used to be a good mod until there is no .oiv file and .txt file now...
How do you install it? there is no installation.txt file for instructions. I can't read the installation on the mod page because the owner decided to not give us a proper installtion path and force us to read a .txt file that does not exist. Is it so hard to copy and paste the installation path in the mod page. Its just less then 5 steps progress. When you wrote the description, you could have easily copy and paste the installation instructions in it too in case this current problem accures but no. You just had to make it harder for us.
@bloodyframe2018 This is not any hard, this is really simple if you actually looked because the file comes with an installation.txt file with clear installation steps, second of all it is an oiv file which you drag to the application called openIV which you should you know by now.
@kai99green @Michael21107 @hrvyk20 @bloodyframe2018
No idea why that stuff happened, but hopefully I fixed the issue. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Three years of waiting and the new update is bug fixes lol, but still nice
@XENORT You are good
i was like WOW NEW UPDATE and then bug fixes
@Daddynnoob
Yeah, probably the exact reason there's no new RGS version (no offense). After 3 years, the community would be happy to receive a magnum opus of an update (and I would really like to deliver too), but the stress is just so much that I don't even want to touch RGS ever again.
Since the last RGS update, I've grown and improved as a sound modder/designer, and now I can see how flawed this mod really is. There are lots of sound clipping issues everywhere, sound volume fluctuating, some sounds get abruptly cut, and a whole lot of other problems that will appear under closer inspection. I'll have to rework the entire mod to ensure that the quality is worthy of these 3 years of waiting.
@XENORT
And you ain't even getting PAID! Honestly don't beat yourself up too much about it, seriously stop it it's not warranted...
@XENORT I see. I hope you get paid from your sound designing 🙏
