Better Traffic Laws
This modification adds traffic rules to the game. The following penalties are enabled by default:
All penalties have some soft conditions (in the braces), these conditions must be met for triggering a violation. For example you should drive on the pavement for at least 2 seconds to trigger the nearby cops that can see you (there's no obstacle between you and the cop, and the cop is looking in your direction).
This mod is compatible with Rebalanced Dispatch Enhanced.
All penalties are configurable in the .ini file.

Seems that the SHVDN issue was fixed in the build nighlty.115 (https://github.com/scripthookvdotnet/scripthookvdotnet-nightly/releases/tag/v3.6.0-nightly.115), if you got any issues, please try this or the newer one (>= nightly.115).
Bro please make a video on how to install it because it doesn’t work I put the files in scripts folder in my own scripts folder and got rid of shv and shvdn and lemonui because I already have them and they still don’t work I changed the key to L and set some of the setting to false
@null_pointer please help me
@null_pointer it gave me this message in the log file [ERROR] Failed to instantiate script BetterTrafficLaws.BetterTrafficLaws because constructor threw an exception: System.InvalidOperationException: The index is under zero.
this mod doesnt want to work beacuse of this error
took long to figure it out you have to put just the two files in scripts folder into your own made script folder and made my menu key f10 its not like pull me over the cops kill you or if you surrender your busted so there is no tickets or fines
Please mind the message in SHVDN release as one of the latest game updates broke some compatibility with the older SHVDN library. So if you get any issues with the mod, please try to update SHVDN to the latest nightly build downloaded from https://github.com/scripthookvdotnet/scripthookvdotnet-nightly/releases
Cops on beat Oiv is broke right? I wanna use this mod but Cops on beat always fk my shhid up.
Hey @null_pointer ! Is there a way I can contact you (Discord for example) so I can help with the issue that @BWR_mods pointed out. I'm not sure whether it's a LemonUI or BTL bug.
@justalemon yo justalemon can u make a new version of foodshops i liked the mod
@BWR_mods I'm working on updating ALL of my mods. FoodShops will be updated just like how DumpsterDiving was updated this week.
@justalemon thanks, I really appreciate your offer to help, but I think I've tackled the issue already, didn't notice that the second argument of the NativeListItem is subtitle :) NativeListItem(string title, string subtitle, params string[] objs)
I joined your Discord server just in case!
@BWR_mods you can check the latest version (2.1.0) when it gets approved by the admins, the issue should be fixed there. If got any problems, please try to remove the scripts/BetterTrafficLaws.ini config.
@null_pointer Does this work with RDE?
@Chanex didn't check that, but I think it should be compatible.
@null_pointer it's compatible)
@sinoptick nice, thanks for the info!
@null_pointer Yeah I just installed it with RDE, it's compatible
Heyo, I installed this mod to give it a go and found that police were far too eager to pull me over for the smallest infractions, so I tried to get rid of it. Well, it turns out that removing the files isn't enough and the mod remains in my game despite me not physically having the files for it. Any fix for this? It's getting frustrating getting pulled over for going 1 kph over, even with config file changes that also never got registered in-game so I couldn't turn anything off.
Hello @Octavia038, please make sure the mod is no longer in the "scripts" folder that is in the root of the game. As soon as you remove the mod, it can't be executed anymore. Don't forget to either restart the game or hot-reload the scripts by pressing the reload key you set up in the SHVDN (if any).
